LVISN Senior Wing Celebrates Annual Day

LVISN celebrated its Annual Extravaganza on 7 and 8 November with great zeal and fervour. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by an enchanting orchestra, presented by the budding musicians of the school. The musical confluence, titled, Harbinger of Harmony, rendered a song for peace and sustainability, highlighting the ethos of the school. The Director Principal, Dr Ruchi Seth, in her welcome address, shared an overview of the programme. Speaking about the medium of theatre, Dr Seth mentioned that it is the most powerful teaching-learning tool that helps one develop a stronger sense of self and identity. The Chief Guest on Day 1, Dr Shayama Chona, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee, appreciated the students for preparing the mega event in a limited period of time. She emphasised the need to teach our children to be tolerant and torch-bearers of peace. She further stated that our responsibility is to bring harmony and joy even to the specially-abled and nurture true feelings of respect for everyone. The coveted Patron’s Trophy was awarded by Dr. Shayama Chona to Abhyuday Gupta of Grade XII for his exemplary rhetorical achievements with respect to Inter-school debates. The Chief Guest on Day 2, Dr Joseph Emmanuel, Director (Academics), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), India lauded the performances and the enthusiasm of the students. He reiterated that these students are the young leaders of the future and also gently reminded the educators to be doubly prepared to teach a generation that is native of the digital era. A novel presentation, Tutting Dance, was the highlight of the day. The audience highly appreciated the precision conveyed through the synchronised arm movements and the discipline demonstrated by the dancers. An adaptation of G.B. Shaw's Pygmalion, titled ‘Unboxing Eliza’ stole the show. A complete home-production, it was a magnificent fusion of music, dance and drama in which students showcased their versatile artistic prowess. The LVISN cast and crew breathed new life into Shaw’s timeless classic, known for its charm and wit, through the young performers’ finesse and passion. The events of the day left the audience captivated and applauding. It was a proud moment for the Lotus Valley fraternity.
