Dr (Mrs.) Shayama Chona, the only school educator who has been awarded the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, by the President of India, is the driving force behind the school. An alumnus of the prestigious Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' Public School, Dr. Chona has broken barriers to change the lives of many. She has launched major initiatives to promote the teaching of Science, Computers and Information Technology in schools. She has been serving as a member of 97 Advisory Boards and Managing Committees of 68 institutions. Member of Indian National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO, Member of Governing Body of CBSE, Honorary Advisor in the Education Department of MCD, Member of the National Mission Authority (NMA) of National Mission for Empowerment of Women by the President of India. 

Her name finds place in the Limca Book of World Records 2007 for being conferred the maximum number of awards. She is also a Member Advisory Board Coca-Cola India Foundation, Member Medanta Independent Ethics Committee, Medanta ? The Medicity, Gurgaon. She is a member of the Stem Cell Committee of Ganga Ram Hospital. She has given concrete shape to her transcendent principles by setting up 'Autism CenterSchool of Hope', 'Tamana Special Education Centre' and 'Skill Development Centre - Nai Disha'. As the founder of three schools for children with special needs, she has been working tirelessly since 1984. A proud recipient of 54 awards including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, two National Awards and one State Award, Dr Chona has served society and humanity with distinction and timeless dedication. It is her mission to educate and empower the abled and differently abled that helps her to stand apart. She believes that a child is God's gift to man and needs to be nurtured in an atmosphere of discovery, enquiry, learning, expression and communication. Encouraging children to discover their inherent abilities and latent talents, Dr. Chona supports the Latin phrase 'Laoris Gloria Ludi'. The expression implies work hard and play hard.
