Championing Change - LVISMUN 2024 - DAY 1 Highlights
Lotus Valley International School, Noida is hosting a dynamic two-day Model United Nations (MUN) Conference on 26 and 27 July 2024, centered around the theme ‘Assistance, Alliance, Advocacy.’ The conference has brought together over 300 enthusiastic delegates representing 31 reputed schools from across Delhi-NCR to engage in rigorous debates and discussions, emulating the work of the United Nations.
Day 1 of the conference commenced with a serene and divine ‘Prayer for Peace’, a multi-faith invocation, the most befitting beginning to the conference. A special highlight of the ceremony was "The Resilience Runway," a vibrant tribute to the indomitable spirit and individuality of acid attack survivors from the Chhanv Foundation who walked the ramp, arm in arm with Lotusians including some of our own neuro diverse students. They graced the ramp with poise and confidence, accompanied by our dedicated staff. This poignant segment aimed to raise awareness about the strength and resilience of survivors and advocate for their rights and support.
Dr. Ruchi Seth, Director-Principal, warmly welcomed all guests, delegates, and attendees and applauded everyone for synergising their creativity. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Sunjoy Joshi, Chairman of the Observer Research Foundation, and his insightful words inspired the delegates to think critically and work towards a more inclusive and sustainable future. Chief Guest and school’s Patron and Advisor, Dr. Shayama Chona, appealed to the delegates to harness their collective power and drive meaningful action. The opening ceremony set the tone for the conference with a vibrant and engaging opening video showcasing the essence of MUN.
Day 1 witnessed the engaging simulations and debates and by delving into topics ranging from human rights to economic development delegates has gained insight into the complexities of national and international affairs and also prepare them to draft meaningful resolutions for day 2.
