As the first step to experiential learning, induction sessions for Atal Tinkering Lab
(ATL) were conducted by the Science HoD, Mr Vivek Singh Yadav, on 4 and 5
May for Lotusians of grades IX – XII. The comprehensive session covered the various aspects of the ATL Lab, including its
objectives, resources available, timings and schedule, procedure and permissions
required to work in the lab, prior skills, discipline and safety guidelines.
ATL was introduced to students as an innovation centre, where they can experiment
with tools, equipment and technology to transform their creative ideas into reality and
develop practical skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Sample projects done by previous batches, such as the smart irrigation system, automatic
traffic signal, solar-powered wheelchair, etc. were shown to demonstrate the potential
of the lab. The induction session was informative and engaging and the new batches
of students were excited to become a part of the ATL in the days to come.
