Cultivating Young Changemakers

On August 6th, Grade 8 students embarked on a transformative journey at the ‘Young Changemakers Dialogue’, co-organized by the American Centre, U.S. Embassy, New Delhi, and Tears of the Earth. This exceptional platform offered our students a unique opportunity to engage with global perspectives on peace and its intersection with technology. This year’s topic was “Peace and the Digitized World (AI Edition).” The session featured Ms. Mercedes Soria, Executive Vice President and Chief Intelligence Officer at Kingstonscope Inc., as the expert speaker. Our students delved into the complexities of a digitized world and its impact on peace. Through interactive discussions and collaborative activities, they understood the distinctions between peace-keeping, peace-making, and peace-building. The event emphasised the crucial role of young people in shaping a more harmonious future, encapsulated by the powerful concept of "E = MC²" - Earth is equal to members of the Changemakers Community. By participating in this dialogue, our students expanded their knowledge and developed essential skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and global citizenship. As newly certified members of the Changemakers Community, they are inspired to become advocates for peace and contribute meaningfully to their community. This experience will undoubtedly shape their worldview and empower them to be forces for positive change.
