Innovative activity

An ice breaker activity named ‘Art-Phone’ based on ‘Instagram’ was conducted in grades VIII and IX in which the students were asked to share their interests and aspirations in the form of drawings of three screenshots of its key features such as ‘posts’ and ‘chat’. The activity was immensely helpful in allowing the teachers to get to know their students and helped break down the barriers that inherently exist between a teacher and a new group of students. Beside presenting nuggets of information about their likes and dislikes, and their strengths, coming up with a list of three goals in life, or a goal for the new school year, they also touched upon the areas where they need support. The activity empowered them with a plan for the future and gave them a sense of purpose at the very onset of the academic year.
