The Primary Wing (III –V) of Lotus Valley International School, Noida organised a Sports cum Cultural Fiesta on Saturday, 13th February, amidst a lot of fanfare and grandeur.

Veteran cricketer, Mr. Chetan Sharma, presided as the Chief Guest along with other dignitaries which included Vice-Chairpersons, Mrs. Sureena Uppal & Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur, member of management, Mr.S.C.Arora, Principal, Dr.Ruchi Seth and Vice Principal, Mrs. Indu Yadav. T he colourful extravaganza commenced with the lighting of the Olympic torch by the junior Sports Captains, officially declaring the meet open and releasing of balloons, symbolising the vibrant hopes of the sporting students, that were soaring high. In her welcome address, Dr. Seth epitomised the skills and talents of the students throughout the year. Mr. Chetan Sharma, in his speech praised the efforts of the students and shared how sports can help build character and discipline amongst children.

The welcome song conveyed the message of courage and learning to always be grounded, yet in high spirits, both in success and failure; two very important requisites of a true sportsman. The other  highlights of the event were a myriad of vibrant cultural programs, which included  the equestrian show, aerobics, drill, kabbadi ,taekwando, martial arts, to name a few. The children exhibited their unity, coordination and will power while forming human pyramids. Jashn-E-Bharat, which was a contingent of five tableaus, representing India Shining, Woman Empowerment, Bollywood, Sports and Hamaari Virasat, showcased the spirit of ‘Incredible India’. Almost nine hundred and fifty students, in their dazzling costumes, brimming with undoubting spirit and enthusiasm, left the spectators spellbound. The students also exhibited extraordinary grit and determination and left no stone unturned to win various races held during the day.  

The program culminated with the Prize Distribution ceremony, in which all the achievers of various curricular and co- curricular activities held round the year were awarded with cash prizes, certificates and medals.  The Primary In charge, Mrs. Parul Puri , in her  vote of thanks extended her heartfelt gratitude to the benevolent management, wonderful parents , enthusiastic students and dedicated staff members for their hard work, cooperation and zeal to make this stupendous event a grand success.
