Annual Cultural-cum-Sports Meet

The Annual Cultural-cum-Sports Meet of Lotus Valley International School was held on 30th November, 2015. Enthusiasm, vigour, and high levels of energy flowed through the Lotusians as they participated with true sportsman spirit. Legendry cricketer and former Indian Captain Gautam Gambhir was the Chief Guest for the occasion and eminent educationist Dr Shayama Chona, recipient of the Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri graced the function as the Guest of Honour. The program commenced with the hoisting of the school flag and lighting of the torch by the Chief Guest, followed by the welcome address by the Principal, Dr. Ruchi Seth. In her address, she encapsulated the milestones achieved by the students in various academics, co curricular and sports events during the session 2014-15.
Be it the Drills, Yoga, Races, Gymnastics, or Equestrian Feats - the show was a visual treat for the spectators. The pyramid formation displayed single-minded focus and coordination skills of Lotusians. Students were also acknowledged for their excellence in academics and co-curricular activities in the prize distribution ceremony and meritorious students were given away merit scholarships. The trophy for the best March Past was won by Nalanda House and was also awarded the overall best house.
While addressing the gathering Mr. Gautam Gambhir highlighted the importance of sports and games.  He emphasized that there was no substitute for hard work and also applauded the efforts made by the teachers and students.  He then mentioned that the most beautiful experience was “when I went back to my school as Chief Guest”. 
Encouraging the students with her inspiring words, Dr. Chona said “one day we hope some of you too would come back to this school as a Chief Guest, it would be the proudest moment of your life”.
The program rose to a final crescendo with the grand finale which ended in a beautiful rendition of the song titled by “The Windchimes” lingering in the minds of everyone. The Vice Principal, Mrs. Indu Yadav proposed the vote of thanks.
