Lotus Valley International School, Noida organized the Inter School English Debate Competition  on 15th October,2015. Leading schools of the NCR participated and vied for the coveted trophy as the debators brain stormed fresh ideas on the topic “Euthanasia or Mercy Killing Should be legalized”.  The Rolling Trophy was won by DPS Greater Noida.                                              
Anshita Shukla of DPS Greater Noida  won the best speaker for the motion prize and Arvind Mohan of Somerville, Noida  was adjudged the best speaker against the motion. Jeet Mitra of The Shriram Millenium and Prachi Singh of Somerville Greater Noida were declared the best interjectors. The illustrious panel of judges comprised of Ms. Sonia Singh, renowned news anchor and Ms. Ipsita Banerji famous journalist with leading publications such as India Today, Times of India, Mint, Business World and Outlook.
The students armed with statistics and examples made their arguments more emphatic with their righteous facial expressions, body movement and gestures. Participants exhibited great oratorical skills and it was clear from the debate that the youth of today is not only well read and well informed but also an argumentative Indian who is assertive when it comes to putting forward his views.  The debators displayed confidence and unflappability in presenting their arguments convincingly. The judges complimented the participants and gave some valuable tips on debating. The judges were impressed with the debating standards set in the school and hoped that such a culture of discussion will continue to thrive. The event was a grand success under the guidance of the Principal, Dr.RuchiSeth.
