Special Assembly of Janamashtami-Nursery

Special Assembly of Janamashtami was conducted by the students of Nursery – Snowdrops and Nursery – Gladioli on Thursday, 3rd September, 2015. The significance of celebrating Janamashtami was explained confidently by the students. A skit on Janamashtami was conducted, depicting the birth of Lord Krishna. The children enacted the roles beautifully and were applauded by all. Children sang a devotional song “Gokul ki galliyon ne dekhi Kahna teri lila nyari” which created a spiritual atmosphere. Our graceful dancers had everyone tapping their feet to the the song “Mor pankh mathe pe jada aur hotoon pe muskaan re”. The mesmerizing performances by the children kept the audience spellbound. It was truly a day of great learning and celebration.
In India, 5th September is celebrated as Teachers Day as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society. 5th September is the birthday of a great teacher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education, and was a well-known diplomat, scholar, the President of India and above all, a teacher. When some of his students and friends approached him and requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday, he said, "instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege, if 5th September is observed as Teachers day". From then onwards, the 5th of September has been observed as Teachers Day, in India.
