RAKSHABANDHAN AND OLYMPIAD AWARDS

DAY AND DATE: Tuesday, 25th August, 2015
VENUE: Amphitheatre, C Block.
A special assembly was conducted by Class VII Miranda and Oberon on Tuesday, 25th August,2015 in the amphitheatre on the occasion of Raksha bandhan and Janmashtami. The new Principal Mrs. Ruchi Seth was welcomed by the students and teachers. Both the Principal and the Vice-Principal graced the occasion. The Olympiad awards were also given to the students in the assembly.
The assembly started with a prayer followed by a talk on ‘Raksha bandhan’ and ‘Janmashtami’. An inspirational play was also presented by the students that left the audience in awe at their wonderful performance. It was followed by a mesmerizing dance presented by the students. Various Olympiad awards were given to the students. It was a proud moment for the students and the school. The Principal and the Vice-Principal addressed the assembly and encouraged the students to work harder and aim higher in life.

EVENT: ACCOLADES FOR OUR YOUNG ACHIEVERS
DAY AND DATE: Tuesday, 25th August, 2015
VENUE: Badminton Court,C Block

Various inter-school competitions were held at Pragyan School, Noida on 4th ,5th and 6th August,2015. The followings students participated and won various prizes:
•    Ananya Chaudhary of  VIII Callisto  stood first in the English Poem Writing and Presentation Competition.
•    Sara Mishra of  VI  Aquarius stood third in the French Poem Recitation Competiton.
•    Kuhu Bora of  VI Telesto stood first in the under 13 girls category. She received a Gold Medal .
•    Sonal Jain of VI Virgo stood second in the under 11 category. She received a Silver Medal.
•    Dhruv Pai of VI-Aquila stood second in the under 11 category. He received  a Silver Medal for the same.
•    Akshat Vats of  VII- Titan was declared the Best Speaker for the motion in Hindi Debate Competition.

Ghaziabad Yoga Association organized  District Level Yoga Competition  in D.P.S Vasundhara Enclave on 22nd and 23rd August, 2015.  The following students won prizes  in the Rhythmic , Artistic and Yogasana categories:
•    Riya Gupta of class VI
•    Sukoon of class VII
•    Vanshika  of class VIII
Prizes were given to the following students who participated in the various Olympiads. They received certificates for the same.

LEXICON LEGACY
A two day Inter-house English Extravaganza “LEXICON LEGACY” was organized in the school from 25th and 26th August, 2015 for Classes VI – VIII.

Inter House English quiz competition “What’s the good word” was held on 25th August, 2015. Three students from each House participated as a team. There were various rounds such as synonyms, homophones, complete the idiom, identify the authors and Name the characters. The audience also enjoyed the competition. The results were as follows:
1.    First Position: PISA HOUSE (SANIL MITTAL, SANVI DUBEY, ADITYA BAINSLA )
2.    Second Position: TAKSHILA HOUSE (ISHAANARORA, TANISHQ KAUSHIK, SHAMBHAVI VERMA)
3.    Third Position: ALEXANDRIA HOUSE ( YASHVARDHAN VERMA, RASHI AGARWAL, ABDULLAH SIDDIQUI)
                             
 VERBAL CRUSADE

An Inter House English Debate was conducted on 26th August, 2015. 

The topic for the debate was- ‘Use Of Technology Is Detrimental To The Growth Of An Adolescent.’

Students presented thought-provoking arguments and were highly appreciated by the Principal and Vice Principal. The results were as follows:

•    Best Speaker ( AGAINST) :– KUMAR .M. SINGH – PISA HOUSE
•    Best Interjector :IRA SHARMA– NALANDA HOUSE
