The  Special Assembly for Independence Day was conducted for Classes I and II at Lotus Valley International School with great splendour and fervour on Thursday, 13th Aug 2015. Hosted by the students of class II Kilimanjaro and Mont Blanc, it was infused with joy, pride and respect for the country.
The little children entertained all with a programme which highlighted the struggle for freedom as well as inspired the students with patriotic feelings towards their motherland.  The comperes took us down the pages of history as they unfolded the  years of bondage under the British rule, the contribution of our freedom fighters and the significance of freedom in the present scenario.
The poem, ‘Hum Panchhi Unmukt Gagan ke’ composed by Shivmangal Singh Suman, recited by the students depicted the importance of freedom.  This was followed by a group dance which showcased our vast tradition and culture. The dancers in saffron, white and green costumes displayed our love for sports like cricket, football and badminton. The key to such an enthralling performance lay in their talent and hardwork. They showcased different areas of our achievements. The audience were thrilled to see them perform with so much of confidence and dedication.
Principal ma’am, Vice Principal ma’am and In charge ma’am   graced the occasion and applauded the efforts of the little Lotusians , teachers and parents . It was a pleasure when one parent spoke on behalf of all the parents that it was a visual treat, very well organised and conducted and appreciated the school for giving such a platform to the students which will transform them into confident individuals.
